The basic thought for the title would be something along the lines of "Small Town, Anywhere" because it's set in what could be any small village. It has its legends, its simple locales, its stores, its houses, its graveyards, etc. It has these things because every small town has these things.
The only difference?
Before you got here, It was completely empty of people.
Their stuff is still there. Every house has the belongings of some family that was once there. People from the surrounding hamlets come in and deliver supplies to the stores day by day. Mail gets delivered to the post office from the outside. The towns and hamlets and villages surrounding are all thriving -- the best crops, the best little stores, no one is jobless, hardly anyone ever gets sick, and crime is nonexistent. There are no graveyards, no legends, no ghosts. Just good, wholesome living. The politicians and their denizens, in those places, look on this town with eager eyes and celebrate every new arrival. They celebrate you, and they know your name, even if they've never heard of you before, from wherever you come from.
You may not feel you're supposed to be here, but believe me: everyone was expecting you, and they're happy you're finally here. You'll find you have your own house (shared with others, perhaps? But still yours -- your own new family, too). If you want a job? They're all waiting to be picked up. You might have even been assigned one when you got here, or will be assigned one before too long.
You are now a citizen of (insert name here), called jokingly "Small Town, Anywhere" by the outsiders. You would think they call it that because it's the perfect picture of a small town, just like all the ones around it, but there's another reason.
Every ghost, every legend, every catastrophe, every mystery, every terrible or strange thing that could possibly happen? Will happen here.
What the people don't tell you is there's something under Small Town, Anywhere. Inside of it. All around it. A force of entropy that the common man in areas surrounding never speak of, but know it's there, drawing in on misfortune, amplifying it, and thriving on the chaos. So long as Small Town, Anywhere, is inhabited, outsiders believe that it will stay there and not visit its misfortunes beyond those borders.
To put it bluntly, you are a sacrifice. But don't be so glum about it! Look at you. You're alive. We've given you a home, a job, a family! You're doing something noble just by showing up, today!
Those things are going to happen here -- and to you -- so that they don't have to happen anywhere else.
Welcome home. We wished for you. We're overjoyed to have you.
